During the class, we’ll cover block printing basics by designing, drawing, and carving your own rubber block—then we’ll print your designs onto a set of 4 notecards and envelopes! Each class includes one-on-one instruction in a group setting, and it’s perfect for date nights, girls night out, and discovering this amazing art form on your own. At the end of the class, you’ll take your hand-carved block home, along with a short list of supplies so you can continue your block printing journey. Casey discovered block printing while living in India and fell in love with the technique. Her style has evolved over time and is heavily influenced by geometric lines, nature, abstract and mid-century design, and Japanese simplicity. At Cal & Case, we love printing on natural materials like handmade paper, cork, and linen, and we source most of our materials to reflect our commitment to nature. Casey is a graduate of Georgetown University, and has been a maker in the DC area for 3 years.
