I wanted to make a post warning the kind folks on here not to attempt to purchase a pug puppy from Craigslist in the coming weeks. There are a group of scammers using pictures of black and white pug puppies to try to scam people right before Christmas! They are making listings all around the NOLA area and say that they are located in El Paso and Austin TX. When I offered to come drive and meet the dog they said it was only possible to ship the dog to me and requested I send them $300 for the service. I asked for the name of the company providing the service and they refused to tell me. They gave me a B.S number to call but because they both had Indian accents and could not give me an address for their shipping center, I luckily realized it was a scam. I called them out and they admitted they had been scamming people for weeks. They will ask you to pay via Apple pay, Cashapp, and Zelle. They are extremely pushy. If you attempt to buy a pug puppy please make sure you talk with them over the phone first to make sure they are legit. If they cannot give you the name of a legitimate business DO NOT BUY INTO THE SCAM. They are just a bunch of scammers from Kolkata and will desperately try to convince you to give them your hard earned money. If you think you might be getting scammed trust your instincts.
