Each Year, the Alexis de Tocqueville Society of United Way of Southeast Louisiana presents its highest award for exemplary leadership in community volunteerism and philanthropy.
We are privileged to announce that Entergy Corporation’s Marcus V. Brown – philanthropist, public servant, and volunteer – is the 2021 recipient of our distinguished award. Marcus encompasses all the elements of a deserving recipient of the Alexis de Tocqueville Award, including an extensive career of service to the betterment of our community with no desire for personal recognition and a lasting commitment to United Way’s mission to eradicate poverty.
The celebration will occur on the evening of Thursday, February 10, at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans.
Discounted Ticket in recognition of your extraordinary philanthropic support. $125 per Ticket. The cost of the event is $250 per person. Sponsorship benefits are also available.
We look forward to celebrating Marcus’ outstanding contributions to our community with you.

For more than 90 years, no other nonprofit organization in the area has taken such a broad, objective view of the community as a whole like we do at United Way of Southeast Louisiana. We spend a great deal of time identifying, assessing and monitoring the most pressing needs in our region.
