Description

Hub City welcomes Yogalicious owner Katy Corbin to the Bookshop for an evening of conversation about yoga, wellness, and reading! This will be the first event in Hub City Bookshop's Winter Wellness Series, a three-part program of events highlighting the wellness and fitness experts in our local Spartanburg community! Since the early months of the year often bring reformations and resolutions, we've decided to take the opportunity to connect our audience with wellness experts in our community, plumbing those experts for their guidance, their advice, and their book recommendations! If you're considering a new workout regimen, or simply want to know more about the wellness options in the Spartanburg, come check it out! For the first event in our series, Hub City is excited to welcome Katy Corbin, owner of Yogalicious in downtown Spartanburg, to the shop for an evening exploring the benefits of a yoga practice for a life well-lived! Katy will be in-conversation with Hub City Writers Project Executive Director Anne Waters, sharing her story, discussing how she thinks about wellness today, and considering the books that have informed her practice. Come on out to the shop at 6pm on Thursday, January 13th for what's sure to be an interesting conversation. This event is free and open to all, but save your spot here! About the Speaker Katy Corbin first practiced yoga while a student at Converse College, with Jan LeFrancois, a psychology professor and certified Iyengar instructor. The peace and focus she found after that first practice was immense. When she returned to Spartanburg in 2004, she found YOGAlicious and experienced her first yoga studio. Studying under Monica, Catherine and Adrienne was a wondrous, life-altering experience. So much so that she signed up for the very first Teacher Training class at YOGAlicious! When not practicing or teaching yoga, she enjoys the beautiful Upstate, walking her dogs, sipping tea, dancing with her daughter and cooking healthy meals for family and friends. About Yogalicious At Yogalicious, our mission is simple: affordable yoga for all. Yoga means unity--more specifically, harmony between body, mind, and breath. Our casual yet cohesive community at Yogalicious revolves around this basic principle.
