Greendale Names Jermaine Murry As Permanent Head Football Coach

GREENDALE, WI — Greendale High School has named Jermaine Murry, a Greendale High School graduate and longtime coach for the district, as its permanent head football coach, the district announced Monday. Murry's move from the interim head coach to the permanent head coach for the Panthers comes after he led Greendale football to a 9-0 record in the 2021 Woodland Conference high school football season, according to a news release from the Greendale School District. Outside of coaching, Murry is a community program coordinator for the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center. Murry's history in the district goes back years. Before becoming the interim head coach and now the permanent head coach, he was an assistant coach for 19 seasons as well as the offensive coordinator for the Greendale Football Program, the district news release said. During his time as an assistant coach, Murry recieved multiple honors. In 2011 he was named the Woodland Conference Assistant Coach of the year. He also received the District 7 Assistant Coach of the year honors, the news release said. "Coach Murry led our football team successfully to an exciting, undefeated regular season and 2021 Woodland Conference Championship this year," said Greendale High School Athletic Director, Jerad Galante. "We are grateful for his continued passion to see students and student-athletes succeed in the classroom, on the field, and in life. We look forward to Coach Murry leading the Panthers for many football seasons to come." Following his graduation from Greendale High School, Murry earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Master's of Science in Management and Sports Management from Cardinal Stritch University, according to the news release.
