Description

As we enter the season of family gatherings, the Trumbull Health Department wants to remind residents to remain vigilant in protecting themselves, family and loved ones from Covid-19. Cases of Covid-19 continue to increase across the state. While the majority of cases are mild, we are still seeing increased hospitalizations and severe cases in those who are immunocompromised, the elderly, and those who are unvaccinated. "Our best defense against Covid-19 is vaccination," said Luci Bango, Trumbull Health Department Director of Health. "Vaccines have been approved and recommended for those residents 5 years of age and older. The benefits of the vaccine outweigh the known and potential risks. The vaccine does not prevent disease, however, it does reduce the severity of the disease." Other preventive measures that can be taken include: Bango said, "The more preventive measures we can incorporate into our daily lives, the better we will be at controlling the spread of the disease in our community and among family and friends this holiday."
