HERNDON, VA — A Herndon man is facing felony charges for attempting to solicit a minor, according to a Virginia State Police Department release.
A part of the NOVA-DC Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, VSP detained and charged 33-year-old Dustin Amos with two felony counts of using a communication system to solicit a minor.
The task force began its investigation of Amos on Friday after being alerted by the Minnesota Human Trafficking Investigator's Task Force. Working undercover, a task force detective encountered Amos online. After providing additional investigation, VSP look Amos into custody without incident.
In his online communications, Amos said that he was an employee of the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. For this reason, the sheriff's office is assisting the task force with its investigation.
