NEW HAVEN, CT — A 56-year-old New Haven public works employee was struck by a gray Audi on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard at around 6 a.m. Monday, police said. The worker was hit between Anita Street and Goffe Terrace, police said. When first responders arrived, they found the injured man laying in the roadway. The driver of the car "remained on scene and the operator cooperated with police," New Haven police spokesperson Scott Shumway said. The worker, who lives in Hamden, was taken to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Shumway said. The crash remains under investigation, Shumway said.
