Good Monday morning Connecticut, It will be very cold today, with temperatures only reaching 35 degrees, and it will feel even colder if you factor in the wind chill. A bit warmer on Tuesday with more sun and temperatures into the low 40s. There is a chance of some rain and snow showers Wednesday, but temperatures are in the low 40s. There is also a chance for rain and snow showers late Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, but temperatures will rise into the upper 40s on Christmas Day, according to the National Weather Service. We'll keep a close eye on the holiday forecast. Gov. Lamont holds a news conference Monday afternoon Today at 4 p.m., Lamont will hold a news briefing to provide updates on the State of Connecticut's coronavirus response efforts. As we all know, the infection rate and number of hospitalizations related to COVID-19 have been rising steadily over the past month. The number of COVID-19-related hospitalizations in the state is at 736 and the infection rate on Friday was 6.78. Lamont has thus far resisted any new mandates and said recently he has no plans to reinstitute an indoor mask policy. Some good news A waitress at The Kitchen Restaurant in Prospect received a $1,920 tip from a very generous customer. The whole thing was captured on video, which you can watch here at WTNH News 8.
