Metro Council released the following statement, after LMPD Chief Erika Shields announced Officer Zach Cottongim passed away Saturday night: "Metro Council is devastated to hear that LMPD Officer Zach Cottongim, who was hit on I-64 while conducting an investigation Saturday morning, has passed away.
