COVID-19 Cases Still Increasing In Bucks County: See Latest Data

BUCKS COUNTY, PA —Amidst cold weather and the holiday season, the Bucks County Department of Health released the latest local COVID-19 data in the county Friday. The new numbers show a still-rising positivity rate and caseload in our area. The county health department reported 1,554 cases between Dec. 9 and Dec. 16, an increase of 69 cases from the prior week. Bucks County now has an 11.2 percent positivity rate a 1.2 percent increase to a figure that has continued to rise over the past few weeks. Of the reported COVID-19 cases, 224 were in children 11 and under, an increase of 25 from the prior week. Children 12 and older saw an increase of 40 cases, for a case total of 175. The county reported 17 deaths this week, with eight as delayed reports from the prior two weeks. On Friday, 133 people were in the hospital with the virus — an increase of 25 from the previous week — with 9 of those patients on ventilators. In vaccination news, 363,269 residents have received at least two doses of the vaccine. That's an increase of 4,427 residents from the prior week.
