WRIGHT COUNTY, MN — The Minnesota Department of Public Safety recently reopened its Driver and Vehicle Services exam station in Buffalo after shutting it down at the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020. The Buffalo exam station at Lakeview Mall is once again scheduling appointments for knowledge and road-skills tests, according to the Minnesota DPS website. The exam station is administering Class D skills tests on Wednesdays and knowledge tests on Thursdays. Appointments are required. 1 St. Michael School Taken Off COVID-19 Outbreak List Officials shut down almost 80 locations last spring as the coronavirus pandemic caused staffing and safety issues that forced the DPS' Driver and Vehicles division to consolidate. Minnesota lawmakers approved funding in 2021 to help the state reopen 67 exam stations, but many remain closed.
