ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a mystery photographer, a domestic disturbance, porch piracy, a bank bag theft, a trip and fall and unauthorized transfers. Here is information from the latest Elmhurst police reports: Mystery photographer A person in a black Chevrolet Camaro parked in front of a resident's house in the 300 block of South Arlington and took several photos of the resident's house and a neighbor's house Dec. 13. After five minutes, the suspect left the area. Later, a red Ford Explorer was seen parked in front of the resident's house, but the driver left after the resident attempted to take a photo of the Explorer. The incidents were reported five days later. Domestic disturbance A person in the 300 block of Scott Street told police that someone pushed him about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, causing him to fall backward. Both parties said they were not injured. The incident was labeled a domestic disturbance. Porch piracy Two packages were stolen from a front porch about 11 a.m. Nov. 28 in the 100 block of Clinton Avenue. The incident was reported Thursday. Surveillance video showed a suspect walking up the victim's driveway, picking up the packages and leaving the property on foot. The man was described as white and wearing a gray and white baseball cap, a face mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black and white gym shoes. Bank bag theft A man told police that he was eating lunch at Burger King, 176 E. Butterfield Road, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday when he opened his briefcase, which held a bank deposit bag. Later that day, he noticed the bank bag was missing from the briefcase. The victim returned to the restaurant, but was unable to find the bag. Trip and fall A woman tripped over the curb and fell on the sidewalk about 6 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of East First Street. Police could find no defects in the sidewalk or curb. The woman was taken to the hospital. Crouching near car A resident in the 100 block of South Fairchild Avenue reviewed surveillance footage and saw a suspect crouching next to her parked car shortly after midnight Saturday. Officers checked the area, but could not find the person. Unauthorized transfers A resident in the 300 block of Harrison Avenue told police Saturday she discovered unauthorized transfers from her mother's bank account starting July 1. The case is pending an investigation. Backpack stolen A person told police Saturday that he inadvertently left a backpack about 4 p.m. Saturday outside Jewel, 944 S. York St. When he returned, the backpack was gone.
