Press release from the City of Fargo: December 13, 2021 Due to upcoming holidays, COVID-19 vaccine clinics will not be held on December 24th or December 31st. The COVID-19 testing site will also be closed on those days. Upcoming vaccine clinics and test site hours of operation are posted on the Fargo Cass Public Health website. The December Online Book Party is December 16th on the Fargo Public Library's Facebook page. It is a book club and participants can read whatever they want, the librarians will share reading suggestions and discuss what they have been reading. The Library's Mitten Trees are up for the third season at each of the Library locations. Donations of newly purchased, hand-made or gently used cold weather gear such as mittens, gloves, hats, scarves and socks are being accepted for the trees. Year-to-date building permits in the City are at $743 million, the second highest year ever. The highest was when the new Sanford Hospital was constructed. The third highest year was in 2020 when permits were $720 million. We have two videos produced by the CommsGA team. The first details the December ribbon cutting jointly held by the City of Fargo and Xcel Energy for a new electric vehicle charger in the City Hall west parking lot. The Sustainability and Resiliency Committee also assisted in the dedication of this grant-funded project. The second video showcases the Fargo PD's implementation of the body-worn camera project, which ensures accountability for the public, our officers and the media. Directly reflective of the FPD value of professionalism and the forward-looking element of its mission, this project is a comprehensive investment in our on-going commitment to transparent public safety and the trust between law enforcement and the public.
