Description
MARIETTA, GA — Marietta City Schools employees — both full- and part-time — got retention bonuses last week.
The MCS Board of Education unanimously approved up to $1.1 million from the district's contingency fund to cover the bonuses, which was given out to full-time employees and instructional providers, as well as eligible part-time employees.
They all already got their bonuses — $750 for full-time and instructional providers, and $375 for eligible part-time employees — on Thursday.
"Our board and district leadership care deeply about each of you and will continue to prioritize staff compensation," Superintendent Grant Rivera said in a staff letter.
MCS employees received an average raise of 7.5 percent this year, which Rivera said was among the highest in metro Atlanta.
"I hope this retention bonus further demonstrates our commitment to you, and I thank our BOE for continuing to recognize how important you are to the success and strength of MCS," Rivera said.
