TRUSSVILLE, AL — The Alabama Sports Writers Association's 2021 All-State football teams were announced over the weekend, and multiple players from the Trussville area are part of the teams. For Class 7A Hewitt-Trussville was represented well on the All-State list: First Team OL Riley QuickWR Omari KellyDL Justice Finkley Second Team RB James HammondsDL Hunter Osborne In Class 6A, state champion Clay-Chalkville's head coach Drew Gilmer was named Coach of the Year, and the the team landed several players on the All-State list: First Team QB Khalib JohnsonRB Edward OsleyLB DJ BarberATH Jaylen Mbakwe Second Team WR Marquarius WhiteDB Jayden Sweeney Pinson Valley lineman Cameron Ambrose was named to the Class 6A Second Team. Center Point DL DeRaiven Crawford and DB KeMarius Horne were named Second team All-State in Class 5A.
