One of my dogs has been missing since about 6 pm yesterday, though our gate was latched. Can't find him or the possible breach in the fence, so we are still unsure of how he escaped, in what direction, and exactly when. Especially worrisome bc none of our other dogs got loose (usually all partake in the shenanigans once one figures out how to break out).
Tobias (answers to Toby, Tobes, Tobyebye as well) is a 15 year old black shepherd mix with tan undercoat, medium to large, weighs about 50 lbs. Noticeably a senior dog (somewhat slow/unsteady, appears borderline frail or slight in stature, easily disoriented if rushed at or boxed into a space). GIven his age and failing eyesight, he does stumble and trip time to time, especially in tight or dark spaces.
Temperament is submissive, he is prone to cowering to loud sounds and deep voices, but is never aggressive. Generally friendly to children, other dogs, and cats. Due to timid nature, he may not approach strangers without some coaxing with treats, toys, or baby talk.
He loves tennis balls and will chase after most anything you throw (but won't bring it back). You may also notice he is a heavy breather, tends to pace in circles, and drinks more water than the average dog.
Neutered, black collar, not chipped, not a jumper or licker, seldom barks, very food motivated and will take treat roughly from hand (not out of food aggression, just unfettered eagerness), UTD on rabies, tags should read from LA Grange, TX.
THANK ÝOU!
