Apartment Maintenance Technician
Jobs
Jamestown NY
Description
We are currently looking to fill two positions. This is a full time year round job. I need someone who is experienced in all phases of apartment repair. Basic plumbing and electric, flooring, drywall replacement and repair, ceiling tile repair, cleanouts and cleanup. The other position will do a little of everything but focus mainly on finish work like drywall, trim, ceramic tile, and all the little things/touches that really make the place stand out. We basically take vacant apartments in various degrees of damaged and make them nice rentable units again. It’s an easy going position. Basically we meet at the property, get a supply list, get the supplies and then you go to it. I will always be around to answer any questions and help you in case you get in over your head. I don’t expect everyone to know how to fix everything and I will be around to help fill in the gaps when needed. That being said I also have over 100 clients then need things constantly so I can’t be called away 20 times a week. You need to be experienced, be very reliable, be trustworthy and have an even temper. I take care of all the calls between owners and tenants so the stress is kept at a minimum. If you can prove to be on time, do the job correctly, and be reliable, the. I will make the pay and bonuses better and better. Starting rate during probation is dependent upon experience and there will be a 90 day probation to prove reliability and skills. This is a 1099 position. I am looking for people to start asap. To be considered respond to this email and put either “Jack of all Trades” or “Skilled Finisher” in the title. I don’t need a full resume unless you have one handy but I do need to know what you can and can’t do. List a number that I can text with any questions to speed this along. I’m very busy so texting is by far the easiest way for me to schedule in person interviews. List what your best and worst skills and be honest. I’d rather know right off then send you to a furnace call that ends up blowing the house up. Be honest and be thorough. Finally let me know what you need to earn to come to work and stay motivated. If I can get close to the number then we will talk. If you are out of this world high especially to start with then I probably will pass. Many days are very easy going so remember to stay reasonable and check things out before missing out on a decent opportunity. Once I know you are solid then the money will follow. Finally you must have reliable transportation and a vehicle capable of moving the tools and materials. You can’t do this job with a dodge neon. You will need either a truck or a van/suv that has either a cargo rack or space inside. Obviously huge loads will be delivered or we will rent a truck but if you can’t haul a few sheets of drywall or a few rolls of carpet then it will be hard to do this work. It takes a special kind of person to do this job and do it well but the right person/people can go far. If you consistently above and beyond then I’d even consider showing you how to go from worker to partner if you want to eventually break into that market. Thanks for reading my ad, and I hope to talk to you soon!
