Description
PURPOSE: Responsible for ensuring the buildings are at the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Supervises and oversees the custodial staff while also providing custodial services. DIMENSIONS: St. Michael Parish & School has approximately 2,300 registered families and 6,000 individuals, Pre-K-8th grade school, and two worship sites in Olympia, Washington. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Inspect areas for cleanliness and overall appearance on a regular basis. Ensure duties meet established standards. • Manage and purchase custodial supplies. • Supervise custodial staff, including training, scheduling and evaluation of staff. • Manage custodial tickets that come into our maintenance care system. • In collaboration with Facility Director, develop annual work plans. • Floor and upholstery care which includes vacuuming, spot removal and cleaning, as well as performing other floor cleaning duties using commercial equipment. • Submit maintenance work orders as needed • Clean the main church and gathering space. o Cleaning & sanitizing all bathrooms daily o Floor care (vacuum, sweeping and mopping as needed) o Empting trash cans as needed. o Ensures all windows are cleaned as needed. o Ensures all high contact items such as door handles, telephones, and computer keyboards are sanitized as needed. o Dust all areas and detail clean all floor edges as needed. o Ensure lights are turned off and doors are locked in all unoccupied areas. • Exterior doors are inspected and locked per daily event schedule. • All suspicious activities / incidents are reported to the police and Facilities Director. • Apply first aid / call 9-1-1 for all medical emergencies. • Participates in all staff meetings and provides support for special events. • Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: • This position requires operation of motorized equipment including vacuums, buffers, steam cleaning machines, blowers, and other related equipment. • This position requires the use of non-motorized tools such as brooms, mops, and shovels. • This position requires the proper handling and application of chemicals, and knowledge of correct mixing ratios. • This position requires safe handling and disposal of bodily fluids and blood borne pathogens. • This position requires prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, lying down, heavy lifting, work in confined spaces, and extreme heights. • This position requires the use of personal protective equipment such as respirators and masks. • This position is required to respond to non-shift, after hour emergencies such as snow removal or other emergencies. • This position requires a valid Washington State Driver’s License, the ability to lift at least 50 pounds, completion of an Archdiocese of Seattle Background Investigation, and other duties as assigned.
