Seeking knowledgeable cat diabetes help

My sweet 12 year old cat was just diagnosed with diabetes. I am looking for someone knowledgeable to help me figure out how to deal with this delima. I Do NOT want to give her up or put her "down" I believe we caught it early enough and my HOPE is that it is manageable and maybe even (according to the internet) possible remission??
