Guitar Gatherings

Meets

Morgantown WV

Description

Looking for a fellowship of acoustic guitar players. No aspirations, no stage goals, just the fun of gathering and playing guitar. I am 56 years old and have played guitar for 7 years. I have taken lessons on and off and have a good understanding of theory (not great). I consider myself and intermediate guitar player. Beatles, Van Morrison, James Taylor, John Denver, Bob Dylan, Glen Campbell, Jim Croce, Cat Stevens (Yusaf Islam), John Prine, Simon and Garfunkel, Gordon Lightfoot, Mandolin Orange, Josh Turner, Jazz Standards, Church music, even Elvis, etc are just some of my music likes. I sing, but I an not a good singer. Just looking to play with other guitarist and learn from others. Need to expand from just playing solo in my basement. Looking to play at least once a month. Beginners to highly experienced are welcome. No commitment. I like to play just about anything, whatever inspires me at the moment (part of my problem). I am mostly a fingerstyle guitarist. No ego, no expectations. I can help out and hope to learn from others. Any age and gender is fine (although 21 is a minimum as beer and scotch may be in my repertoire). I am sure my music taste above though will only attract the older crowd. If I can find 5-10 of us like minded individuals, then that will equate to about 3-5 getting together each month due to schedules. Send an email if interested.
