Description
The Community and Resilient Environments (CARE) Study examines the influence of neighborhood factors on adolescent development. We are beginning with focus groups and interviews to learn more about how parents and teens think about their neighborhood boundaries, social relationships, and community strengths. Teens (ages 10-17) and parents of teens who participate will be paid $40 in cash and will receive UMD “gear” (t-shirt & water bottle). Focus groups will include 4-6 people, and interviews will be one-on-one. Focus groups and interviews last 60 – 90 minutes, and can be in-person at the University of Maryland (with transportation compensation) or remotely (via Zoom). Child care can also be arranged.
