singer/musician wants to join/start prog rock/metal

I'm a 30 year old guy, been singing and writing songs my whole life. I play guitar, bass, keys and drums, but would like to focus on singing/front manning for a group for awhile. I love all types of music, but most recently been deep in the progressive rock and metal genres, specifically BTBAM, Meshuggah, and Animals as Leaders. My song writing sounds more like The Dear Hunter or Rx Bandits. Some other artists I love are Yes, Genesis, Haken, Snarky Puppy, Vulfpeck, Ben Folds, St. Vincent, Thrice, ASIWYFA, Esperanza Spalding, and so so so many others. I haven't been working on my growling technique because I live in a society, but if I had the right people around me in the right spots, I think I can do it, but my clean vocals are tight! I have some equipment, but would probably like to just play at Astoria soundworks since it's local and they have it all. Also willing to start with some covers too, to get the ball rolling and feel each other out. If you wanna connect, let me know! New year, new music! -Mike
