Advice about moving to FL from NYC as I escape from NY

Basically I am like Kurt Russell in the movie Escape From New York. I sort of look like him too! Anyways so I live in Manhattan and I am not aligned with the politics here, I lost my job because I did not get the shots, and now I want to move down to Florida and start a new life. Any tips for doing this? I need some help. I have lived on the opposite coast of Florida before and always like the East side much more but I guess I would live in any town. I am a non smoker and non drinker and a good person. Clean and no pets or kids. So it would be nice to get replies from people down there. My lease is up in February and I plan to visit Florida at least once before then.
