CA Suspect In Christy Giles Death Charged With Assaulting 4 Women

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — A California man, who was arrested in connection with the deaths of a model and her friend, was charged with sexually assaulting four other women, authorities said. Beverly Hills resident David Brian Pearce, 39, was charged with two counts each of forcible rape and one count each of rape of an unconscious person as well as penetration by a foreign object, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. The alleged attacks date as far back as 2010, with the most recent incident reported in 2020. "My office takes violence against women very seriously. By aggressively prosecuting sexual assault cases, we make our community safer and protect others from becoming victims in the future," District Attorney Gascón said in a statement. "This case is evolving and we continue to work with law enforcement in developing evidence of other possible crimes." Gascón's office said it is continuing to search for evidence of other possible crimes. The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department, West Bureau Homicide. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department said Thursday that Pearce had been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after he and two other masked men dropped off Cristy Giles, 24, and Hilda Marcela Cabrales Arzola, 26, at different Los Angeles hospitals last month. Giles was unconscious and was pronounced dead shortly after she was admitted. Arzola arrived in critical condition and was also unconscious. She was pronounced dead on Nov. 24. Police believe that both women were given drugs and overdosed at a home on the 8600 block of Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles. "Based on the investigation, the LAPD is concerned that there could be other victims in our community who could have been drugged by one or more of these men," police said in a statement.
