A non-profit est. 2007, it collects and redistributes disability equipment free of charge to needy DC RESIDENTS.
Information and referral services are provided to those with medical insurance and/or Medicare/Medicaid.
Recyclable disability equipment types are manual wheelchairs, walkers, lifts, aluminum crutches, canes, bedside commodes, shower chairs, and other Assistive-Technology devices.
Powered-motorized equipment and wooden crutches are not distributed to clients.
Pickup service is not provided and equipment donors are also needed to deliver their equipment to DC SHARES Center.
Please call and set up an appointment to obtain or donate equipment, or to use at no charge its online PCs; no walk-ins at this time. Curbside Pickup and Dropoff Only, please bring a face mask.
