Description

*This is a TRULY GREAT opportunity for anyone who is looking for reliable and stable work while also having enough time to pursue other creative/entrepreneurial interests!* IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM ---- Our employer is a HNW tech investor and entrepreneur with no kids and no pets. Due to some planned staffing changes, we now have a vacancy for a dedicated personal assistant to join our team. This position is for a four-day work week, and the salary will be $50,000/year. This is a permanent W-2 position, meaning you will be eligible for benefits. Please be sure that you can commit for at least 8-10 months. The official working hours are from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm, Monday-Thursday. However, in practice, we usually start at about 11 to 11.30 and finish by 6.30 pm. The boss is generous and doesn't believe in the nickel-and-dime approach. However, he expects that you make it a priority to work promptly and efficiently when called upon. There will be very few occasions where you will be needed to work after hours or weekends, but you will receive time off every time this happens - maybe twice a year. There is also a possibility that you may be required to travel occasionally, in which case everything will be provided for. The boss will make sure you get a good amount of space and free time on trips. However, travel assignments are very rare. Duties: - Scheduling and making appointments - Scheduling other household staff members and taking care of their payroll (e.g. housekeeper, driver, personal trainer, etc) as well as one-off contractor payments - Light bookkeeping and accounting (most of the formal accounting will be done by the accountant) - Making and keeping records and documents - Business and personal errands - Preparing business documents including contracts (based off existing ready-made templates) - Driving the boss to meetings and appointments during certain daytime hours - Keeping both the house and office organized and uncluttered - No kids, no pets Requirements: - College degree preferred (alternatively, 2 years experience in lieu of a degree) - Emotionally mature and stable - Excellent communicator - Organized, systematic, responsible and detail-oriented personality - Preferably based on the West Side of LA - Alternatively, any experience in the hospitality industry would also be a huge plus - Any paralegal or accounting (or similar) experience, including internships, are a huge plus - Competent with technology i.e. the usual Word/Excel but also cloud computing apps, printers, devices, PhotoShop, and WordPress are all a huge plus - NO DRUGS, NO DUI, NO CRIMINAL RECORD (background checks will be conducted) - Having your own car would be an advantage - Fully vaccinated (unless medically exempted) PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO COMMIT FOR A MINIMUM OF 8 MONTHS. If you are from out of town, you may apply, but please note that we will only begin serious discussions with you when you have physically relocated to Los Angeles. APPLICATION STEPS: 1. Please provide a link to your LinkedIn profile. If you do not have one, you may submit a traditional resume. Seriously though, it's 2021. 2. In addition, please write a cover letter or at least an introductory paragraph in your application email. Show us your personality! We like people who are unconventional. Standard application stuff is boring anyway. Try to stand out! 3. In either your cover letter or introductory paragraph, please comment on the question: "what would you do if you won the lottery?" 4. Please confirm that you have no criminal record, no DUIs, and do not currently use drugs (other than cannabis). Please note that you will be subjected to a background check! Please also confirm whether you are fully vaccinated, and if not, please provide an explanation. 5. Please also state what else you're working on - e.g. film, music, advanced studies, looking after children, starting a business, influencer work, etc and when your commitments are heaviest (e.g. "I have classes from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays", or "I have to be in the recording studio from 6.00 pm till late on Mondays"). We will try to be flexible and see if we can accommodate your schedule, if possible. If not, at least we will have been honest with each other, instead of wasting time. Since you are not likely to last long in the job anyway if our schedules don't match. 6. Finally, please confirm that you are a US Citizen or Permanent Resident. For this position, we are not able to sponsor work visas and so we will only consider applicants who do not require visas and who have a SSN. If your application is shortlisted we will text you and then call you to set up a chat. Please be ready to meet in person for a face-to-face interview in Los Angeles between January 3 to 5. If you are not in Los Angeles during these dates, we may still consider you if you are truly outstanding. But we will give priority to candidates who can attend interviews during those dates.
