“Rarely, if ever, are any of us healed in isolation. Healing is an act of communion”. - bell hooks
Join Black Women in Nature as we kickoff 2022 with our New Year Day hike on Saturday January 1 at Blendon Wood Metro Park from 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm! Our time together will include gentle yoga, a mindful walk/hike, and reflective dialogue.
As Black Women, many of us are unlearning and redefining what strength means in our lives. For many of us, at some point strength meant doing everything on our own, pushing through exhaustion, and putting others’ needs before ours. As we create new definitions of strength, we are reminded that strength can mean many things. Our strength can lie in our ability to be soft, to ask for what we need, to prioritize our wellbeing, to speak our truth, to welcome rest in our lives, to lead with vulnerability, and/or to receive as much as we give.
How are you defining or redefining strength in this season? What intentions are you inviting into this year? How can your community support you? What can you learn from nature in this season?
Layer up, invite a friend and meet us outside! We look forward to sharing space with you and learning from your self-inquiry :)
