SALT (Surfers Awareness in Lifesaving Techniques) is offering a FREE training to teach surfers how to assist lifeguards in saving lives. Bring your wetsuit, surfboard, and come join the lifeguards of Huntington Beach, CA for a SALT (Surfers Awareness in Lifesaving Techniques) workshop from 8:30-11am on Sunday, February 13th, 2021. This FREE training will teach surfers how to assist lifeguards in saving lives. In this hands-on class, you will learn: How to identify warning signs of a person in distressHow to assist a conscious vs. unconscious person onto a surfboard and out of the waterCPR (hands-only chest compressions)Common dangers to look out for while at the beach and in the waterMany other helpful lifesaving tips and techniques for yourself and othersPlease bring your mask for the indoor portion of the class. You can leave your board and wetsuit inside your car, and we will have a short break to change before we move outside for the hands-on/in-water section of the class.
