Description

I have kind of floated around the southeast for the last few years. COVID really screwed the music scene as we all know, but I landed my feet back in Charleston. I was here in 2000-2003. I honestly have to say I am kind of disappointed that things have not changed much here, but I still love the area. The Pour House is still the best place for live music for so many reasons. Windjammer still seems to have not improved on clientelle, lol. I think the Music Farm closed down? I am not certain yet. I am hoping there are new places now for LIVE music, and not only do I want to go and create a new band, or join one, I want to know of new places to go and see live music. Now, please, before the haters kick into full gear here and flag me for hating the Windjammer, because it is just over priced, lack luster and an average beach bar band place with has-beens... I want a chance to not have to re-post this add a hundred times. I am a drummer. Yes, the person that actually controls the rhythm method for the entire band with the help of the bass player, and sometimes, that lead role switches over to the lead vocals with metronome and feel, sometimes the guitarist just might be able to dictate the flow.. THE BEST OF ALL is when the audience is telling you how to perform what they WANT to hear. With THAT being said. I am absolutely NOT going to even participate in conversations about "If you cannot play rock women dance to", bullshit. Ya know.. RUSH had the hottest females in their audience too. You do not have to produce a dance song every time and play mustang sally, brown eyed girl, etc. I am looking to join or form a CLASSIC ROCK BAND that focuses on the higher end of classic rock. I once saw a band perform KASHMIR here in Charleston about 10 years ago, and the entire place was flipping floored. I want to be performing the Police, the Who, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Journey, and YES. Find me a band that can play "LEAVE IT".. It can be done. I have the means to take care of it on the drums easily. Find me a band that plays "BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE" by the Talking Heads that floors the floor. I have not seen it here in Charleston. Find me a band that plays Synchronicity ONE or TWO by The Police? You will not. Why? It is not because people do NOT want to hear them performed live, it is because of a lack of talent. I do not mean to insult anyone here, but I think the right people can create the right band to pull off all of these songs. The ones I listed are on my practice list daily. Do not be a hater. I am open to all opinions. I am early 50s, professional gear obviously, 3000 watt PA and a laser system akin to a Floyd concert. I just need to find a studio where we can rehearse. I play at full levels at all times, and I have a stick motion and power akin to Neil Peart. I do not play light, no matter what the song, or the venue. Message me if you would like to connect and talk about a 2022 project.
