The Educating Young Minds (EYM) Golf Tournament seeks to raises money for and raise awareness of EYM’s educational programming for youth. Educating Young Minds (EYM) is a non-profit educational institution that provides services to students kindergarten through senior year in high school. President and Director of EYM, Angelese Echols-Brown founded this organization to provide holistic educational assistance to students of color, which was desperately lacking in the Los Angeles public school system. Her targets are - students on the brink of dropping out of school, youth suffering from adhd and other disorders; and youth that simply need to be heard, seen, and understood as they matriculate through school and seek to be productive citizens in society. As a non-profit, a portion of the business model is to seek funding, so that you are able to provided social services at a low cost. The EYM annual golf tournament seeks to raise money and be one avenue of support for EYM. Ticket sales and purchases of sponsorship packages all go to subsidizing the annual needs of EYM. “Success in golf depends less on the strength of the body than upon strength of mind and character.” Everyday, EYM is challenging its students to strengthen their mind and character.
