Born in Hagerstown on April 26th 1919, Florence MacMichael was an American actress of stage, film and television, best known for playing Winnie Kirkwood in the television series Mister Ed.
On Friday, July 8th, join us in welcoming local historian and author Steve Bockmiller, who will give a presentation on Florence MacMichael. Throughout her career, MacMichael worked with many A-list celebrities from the golden age of movies and TV.
This month’s cocktails will be: The Golden Glamour! This glamorous cocktail was served at an official Academy Awards party where it was a smash hit among the celebrities!

Founded in 1911, the Washington County Historical Society has played a significant role in preserving historic sites, artifacts and archival records for Washington County, Maryland. Located in downtown Hagerstown, the Miller House serves as the home of the historical society, the kinship Family Heritage Research Center, and the Miller House Museum. The museum gives visitors a taste of life in the 1850s and exhibits showcase important events in Washington County history.
