WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. (December 17, 2021) –The City of West Palm Beach's Holiday in Paradise campaign (HIP), featuring Sandi, has been crowned the winner of the 2021 USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice poll for "Best Public Holiday Lights Display." HIP was independently nominated for the competition, and voters had four weeks to cast their daily ballots for what they considered as the worthy candidate. Sandi, the city's 35-foot, 700-ton sand holiday tree on the Great Lawn, is celebrating her 10th year. Notably, this is the second national recognition for a city campaign this year. In April, the West Palm Beach GreenMarket was named Best Farmers Market in the nation, also, by USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice. "It is an extraordinary recognition for Holiday in Paradise, featuring Sandi, to be named Best Public Holiday Lights Display," said West Palm Beach Mayor Keith A. James. "I am incredibly proud of our Community Events Division, which continues to produce exceptional events that enhance quality of life, attract economic development and make our city fun. Thank you to USA TODAY and all who voted us #1 in the nation!" This press release was produced by the City of West Palm Beach. The views expressed here are the author's own.
