Here are the top 5 stories today in Sacramento: The lights are back on for hundreds of customers in downtown Sacramento after a fire at a SMUD substation knocked out power for businesses, homes and traffic lights across the area on Tuesday. Power was restored to the area as of 7:25 a.m. Friday. SMUD has said it is still investigating the cause of the fire. (KCRA3) The public is invited to tour Sacramento fire stations, but one motorist took that to an extreme. A Metropolitan Fire of Sacramento firehouse in Citrus Heights was hit by a car Wednesday night. The fire department said the car struck the living room of Firehouse 27, which is on Grand Oaks Boulevard near Oak Forest Street. According to Metro Fire, the car caused an intrusion of about 2 feet into the firehouse. The fire crew was sitting in the living room at the time, but Metro Fire said there were no injuries. They did not mention anything about the car or the driver in their statement. (FOX40)The California Highway Patrol is investigating a shooting on Interstate 80 Friday morning in Sacramento County. The shooting happened around 7:30 a.m. on eastbound I-80 at Greenback Lane. The freeway was shut down for about 10 minutes to collect evidence but has since been reopened. There are no reports of anyone injured in the shooting. (KCRA3)Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was found dead in his North Highlands apartment, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said Thursday. The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has identified the person killed as Eric Martin Steele, 55. Multiple residents in the apartment complex said they heard a gunshot and shattering glass, and no one had been seen leaving or entering the apartment since. Anyone who may have information on the situation is asked to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. (CBS Sacramento)Let it snow! ... In Folsom??
