CONCORD, NH — A New Hampshire State Police SUV taking Gov. Chris Sununu to work at the Statehouse on Friday was involved in a crash. Around 8 a.m., state troopers and Concord police were sent to South Street near Thorndike Street in the South End of the city for a crash. When they arrived, they found a state police SUV had collided with a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu. According to Col. Nathan Noyes, the Malibu, being driven by a 79-year-old man from Concord, pulled out of Thorndike Street onto South Street, in front of the SUV, and the vehicles collided. The SUV was being driven by an on-duty state police sergeant. There were no injuries from the crash. Anyone with information regarding the collision to contact Lt. Daniel W. Baldassarre at 603-223-8769 or via email at [email protected]. $100K Food Bank Matching Grant A New Hampshire foundation is making a $100,000 matching grant to help hungry families in the state. The anonymous private foundation is challenging supporters of the New Hampshire Food Bank to make a donation to assist in raising another $200,000 in funding. That money would fund around 400,000 meals. "The COVID-19 pandemic has caused considerable hardship throughout New Hampshire, and those who are food insecure need our help now more than ever," Eileen Liponis, the executive director of the New Hampshire Food Bank, said. "We are extremely grateful for this generous matching donation, as our supporters now have the opportunity to double the value of their donation, ultimately maximizing our fundraising efforts this holiday season and allowing us to provide those in need with nutritious meals." During the past seven years, this anonymous donation, matched by supporters, has raised more than $4 million, providing around eight million meals for Granite Staters in need. Donations to be matched can be made at the NH Food Bank website. Here is everything else going on in New Hampshire right now.
