MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Police officers Friday have their guns drawn at Manhattan Village and a heavy police presence has arrived in the area in response to reports of an active shooter, a resident told Patch. UPDATE: Active Shooter Deemed Hoax In Manhattan Beach A helicopter is circling the area and people reported an active shooter in the area surrounding Manhattan Village near North Sepulveda Boulevard and Marine Avenue about 2:45 p.m. Friday. Patch reached out to Manhattan Beach police for more information. One reader said that it could be a miscommunication, although that is not confirmed by police. Manhattan Beach city officials did not return multiple emails and calls for clarification about the incident. I just spoke to a third security guard and he said there was no shooter it was all a misunderstanding.
