ELMHURST, IL — Shots were fired at a car early Friday morning in north Elmhurst, police said.
About 12:30 a.m., a resident in the 400 block of North Emery Lane saw a man walking around a parked car in the resident's driveway, according to a police news release. The suspect jumped into a waiting newer black BMW or Mercedes-Benz SUV and left the area, police said.
The resident discovered his glovebox open, entered his car and followed the suspect, the release said. In the 300 block of North Elm Avenue, a passenger of the black SUV fired five shots at the resident's car, police said. The suspect's car was last seen heading south on Elm.
