Description
IF INTERESTED PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST CAREFULLY. I WILL ONLY REHOME TO A SAFE HOME THAT MEETS HIS NEEDS AS AN ONLY PET. (Birds or other caged animals are fine) I have a beautiful 2yr old male husky/corgi mix with perhaps some heeler or cattle dog. I can’t be 100% sure as I found him as a stray. About 50/60lbs. He is now been neutered. His name is Yeti. Small rehoming fee worked between me and interested party. Willing to work with you, I just want him to find a great home. I originally worked in rescue when I found Yeti and he won my heart over. I’ve taken him everywhere with me for the past 2 years straight. We hike, often off leash as he is so well behaved, and he even comes into work with me. My mom had a Maltese mix who he always played with and one of my friends owns a Great Dane which he’s always played with just fine. I also had several different cats and kittens around the house due to my rescue work which he never had a problem with and he’s always played great and gentle with my friend’s kids. I mention this so you understand how random and surreal this all feels to me. Sadly, around his one year mark, he bit a puppy over food. Believing it to be food aggression, I took him to a few different training classes (he is a VERY smart dog). However within the past month he bit a different puppy entirely unprovoked. Both incidents occurred with absolutely no warning signs. He does not bark, growl, nothing. Not even on the street has he ever barked at another dog. I work at a job where dogs come and go all the time and he’s never so much as flinched when one barks at him. I cannot express how random these were. He was about to become certified as a service dog before this happened. Due to these attacks I must rehome him. I need a very special type of home for him. I love him so much and I cannot stand the thought of him biting another dog, a cat, or a child. Due to these reasons and despite all his training, I insist he go to a home where kids are no younger than 10, with no other animals. He can never be in a two pet home, it’s not worth the risk. On a more positive note, he does pull slightly on the leash but tell him “chill out” and he stops. He lets you know he has to go out by ringing a bell you can hang from your door. He knows sit, stay, his right from his left, up, down, crawl, jump, turn around, dance, walk around or go around (to get him to go around objects). You can place food on his nose and tell him stay still and he won’t move. He understands yes and no. He can even tell his toys apart. He knows much more but will be a little specific on commands, I’ll provide a list if needed. He really will make the absolute best pet if these requirements are met.
