Big S Asphalt, Co. is currently seeking a foreman with extensive paving experiences to lead our paving crew. This full time, long term employment opportunity. We are Growing and need to add to an already good paving division We have all good equipment and constantly buying more and growing. **** This position is full time, long term, and local!!!**** $35.00-$45.00 per hour + benefits, Depending on Experience. Company Benefits: 40 hrs. guaranteed per week 40 hrs. paid time off (PTO) per year ESOP Employee Stock Ownership Plan Health benefits medical, vision, dental, and life insurance 401k/ 401k Match DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee and supervise daily operations of one of our Asphalt Paving Crew including the safety, quality, and personnel management aspects. Schedule work for paving crews with direction from our Dispatcher. Applicant should possess excellent communication, leadership and management skills. Although we expect most of our work to be local, Monday through Friday the applicant, must be able to accept out of town work and/or occasional weekend work Ability to manage field operations required. Must have basic mechanical skills to make equipment field repairs Ability to supervise other company trades (concrete & sealcoating) and willingness to perform various trades as necessary. Must be able to walk through construction sites and lift 50 pounds from the ground. Support of safety & health programs, including daily tailgate meetings, accident investigations, and development and implementation of corrective action plans. Enforcement of all safety & environmental policies, and all applicable OSHA rules and regulations. Provide guidance and development of hourly personnel to meet performance requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: The Paving Foreman position requires the ability to operate the following construction equipment: Paving Machine, Screed, Cold Planer, Dump Truck, Skip Loader, Skid-steer, Vibratory Compactor, Asphalt Roller, Compressor with Jackhammer, Jumping Jack & Plate Tamp. Bilingual a plus Must have Experience with Paving Roadways, Parking Lots, and Pothole Repair Must have supervisory skills handling crews ranging from 6-12 people. Must maintain high quality workmanship. Must be capable and proficient interacting with asphalt plants—ability to achieve accurate AC-AB take-offs. Must be capable and proficient interacting with subcontractors. Ability to travel for work during the week or weekend when needed. Able to work weekends when needed. Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Paving Foreman. Ability to pass drug test and physical. Clean driving record/valid California CDL. CDL a Plus
