Rehoming Lab/Golden Retriever

Description

We are looking for a good home for Alex. Alex is a half lab, half golden retriever 3 year old male dog (65 pounds). We are looking to rehome Alex because he has too much energy around our 1-year-old child. He's not aggressive towards the child, but wants to play and jump and does not know the limits, which has made it difficult for him and us because we have not been able to have them together. Alex has been through 2 sessions of Petco training classes and knows and (usually) obeys basic commands 'come here' 'sit' 'down'. He has never been a dog that destroys anything and really just needs a home that will take him on more walks and get his energy out. Alex has always been crated while indoors and has a fenced back yard. In winter months, he has a doggie door that goes into a heated garage. Alex LOVES his treats and will do just about anything for them. We used to take Alex to the dog park weekly and he did okay with other dogs, but in the last year he has not been around other dogs so we are not sure how he would do now. At the dog park he was the energetic player so for some dogs he was just too much, however, when Alex has been around other high-energy dogs they do well together. We are requesting the person adopting him must have a decent space for him to run and play (no apartments, please). Alex is up to date on shots (next due will be Feb 2022) and is microchipped. We will be happy to pass along a large wire crate, dog bowls, some toys, etc.
