Older small dog

My adult daughter left her shitzu/Lhasa Apso dog with me and he is not getting along with my two puppies. The puppies are big and want to play and he is too small and older. This is horribly stressful for him and it isn’t fair to him especially being bonded to my daughter. He has grown up with kids, cats, and other dogs, just prefers older dogs who don’t constantly want to play. He prefers someone who is home a lot and has plenty of time to just be present.
