Hey there, I am trying to find a perfect new home for our male Russian Tortoise, Mr. Torty Tort. I will only re-home him to an experienced tortoise owner that will provide him with the proper enclosure (no tanks) and understands all the work and care tortoises require. Honestly, we got him as a gift and were not knowledgeable about proper tortoise care. We've had him for almost two years and dove into learning everything about tortoise care and want to find someone who is just as serious about ensuring he will have the best enclosure and care possible. He now lives in a large table top enclosure and want him to remain in a similar enclosure. We don't have the space for him and my cat and dog get in his enclosure and I'm worried they'll eat him at some point (so far they've just been curious and haven't hurt him)- but if he's put in the back room and safe he gets forgotten too easily and that's not fair to him. Honestly, I just stress too much about him and I'm too nervous and inexperienced to know how to hibernate a tortoise during the winter - the whole process freaks me out and I just want someone who knows what they are doing to take over. If the right owner wants him and already has an enclosure (pics required) he'll be free - if you need his enclosure and all his supplies everything will be $200 I honestly want him to just go to an awesome home. He finally eats out of your hand and when you reach in with a flat hand he crawls right into your hand so you can take him out and let him explore about.
