Maintenance/Event Staff Combined Position

Award winning Asheville, NC Wedding/Events Venue and Vacation Rental company seeks to fill a full time Event Staff/Maintenance position. The successful candidate will: be a motivated, self-starter with a positive attitude and great interpersonal skills, have the ability to multitask, have the physical strength necessary to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver on a 20 acre property while working alongside various employees across a diverse range of areas on an as needed basis. Candidate will have basic home and vehicle repair/upkeep skills Overall Responsibilities: Performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed on vacation rental housing, barns/outbuildings, and grounds Preparing facilities and grounds for changing weather conditions Working weekend wedding events and some weekday events with focus on moving, lifting, set up/clean up, driving trailer, washing dishes, storage (Wed-Sunday regular work schedule) Skills Needed: Basic home repair (especially plumbing and carpentry and some basic electrical) Chainsaw Drive tractor and mowers and hook up and pull trailers Basic upkeep vehicles (oil changes, air tire pressure, fluids, inspections) Must have reliable transportation Positive "can-do" attitude Interpersonal skills Examples of Repairs typically needed: fences repaired changing locks or keypad combinations grading roads with tractor after a rain or snow de-icing stairs helping people get back in houses if they lock themselves out fixing a toilet that keeps running constantly toilet holders or towel bars that fall off walls fuses that get flipped off toilet seats getting changed when broken toilet stopped up lightbulbs changed/installed Hot water heater repaired or replaced pump for spring not working drywall patched furniture moved lightbulbs changed Winterizing outdoor toilets re-seeding grass after a flood Keeping outside of the houses “drive up” ready (no leaves, spider webs, etc.) Cleaning out gutters of houses Hidden River Events is an Equal Opportunity Employee.
