Cooper Foundation and Waco Foundation are hosting a free in-person, board governance training on January 10, 2022 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Cooper Foundation and Waco Foundation are hosting a free Board Governance training on January 10, 2022 from 5:30-7:30 pm. This training is intended for new board members, current board members, community members who are considering joining a nonprofit governance board, or nonprofit professionals wanting to learn more about nonprofit governing boards. The presentation will include the following: Legal duties & basic responsibilities of nonprofit board membersBuilding a great boardTrends in board structure for leading organizationsSchedule: 5:15 pm - Doors open for light refreshments and networking5:30 pm - Program begins7:30 pm - Program concludesThis training will be offered 2-3 times each year so that nonprofit boards can ensure that new board members are trained in board governance. The training is a repeat of the 2 hour board governance trainings held in 2021. Making Waco a better, more desirable city in which to live since 1943.
