The Society for the Justice & Equality for the People of Sugar Land (S.O.J.E.S.) is honoring the Sugar Land 95 through a FREE event.
The world learned first-hand of the unimaginable horrors of convict leasing on February 19, 2018.
That's when a backhoe driver working at a FBISD high school construction site discovered the first of at least 95 human remains of victims of convict leasing in Sugar Land, Texas.
Today, these remains are collectively known as the Sugar Land 95.
Please join the Society of Justice & Equality for the People of Sugar Land (S.O.J.E.S.) - a diverse, non-profit community organization committed to social justice and equality, especially for the Sugar Land 95 - as it commemorates this discovery four years to the day later through a spectacular, educational tribute to honor the souls lost to convict leasing in Sugar Land. The event is called A Day of Remembrance.
