Join us at the Live Nativity Everyone is Welcome! Don't miss this annual San Francisco tradition. Come join us at this magical event as the Knights of Saint Francis reenact the Story of Christmas, complete with music, live animals, straw, and a barn, right in the heart of North Beach. Do you remember the first nativity scene that our little Poverello staged for the town of Gubbio? The people were so enamored with the story of the angel coming to Mary… the birth of Jesus… the persecution of Herod… that they asked for it each year, and a tradition began. For this year’s Nativity, we are arranging for a street closure permit; we have organized live barn animals; scheduled a choir, sound equipment and bagpiper; and Decon Christoph Sandoval will be our moderator.
