WALLINGFORD, CT — As the coronavirus pandemic continues in the United States, many people have turned to online services for grocery pickup and delivery, including in Wallingford. Instacart, a grocery delivery service, released some year-end statistics showing what people across the United States ordered in 2021. Nearly half of all Americans reported they had groceries delivered to their house during the pandemic, a survey by the company said. This year, neighbors in Wallingford ordered ground chicken, American cheese, wraps, and chicken bacon the most, according to Instacart data. Wallingford's delivery preferences are most similar to Warwick, RI. Also, Wallingford ordered enough bananas to create a stack as high as 59 Statues of Liberty.
