BRIGHTON, MA — Firefighters worked relentlessly since the early morning hours on Friday when a massive fire broke out in a commercial building in Brighton. One firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Boston Fire Commissioner John "Jack" Dempsey says the fire initially started around 4:30 a.m. Friday and has since been named an 8-alarm fire. Firefighters say they opened the roof of the building to help ventilate all the smoke, only to intensify the flames after. All firefighters were then told to immediately evacuate the building and get off the roof as the shifting winds made for "zero visibility."
