Press release from Belmont Public Schools: 12/17/2021 The Foundation for Belmont Education (FBE) is pleased to announce and summarize grants that were recently approved for the 2021-2022 academic year. Below is a summary of three new grants totaling $7,282. We are very grateful for the generous community support the FBE receives that enables us to provide this well-deserved support for Belmont Public Schools. Applicant Target School Award Title Grant Purpose Target Area Amount Bei Zhang CMS Chinese Calligraphy with Chenery Students to purchase calligraphy materials to provide an enrichment experience for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Chinese Language Program at CMS World Language $432 Caitlin Correiri, Lisa Hurtubise CMS Mental Health Literacy in 8th Grade to purchase 350 books and teacher resources to pilot a new 8th grade ELA unit designed to educate about and destigmatize mental health English Language Arts $5,550           Applicant Target School Award Title Grant Purpose Target Area Amount Victoria D'Annunzio High School & CMS PD on proficiency strategies by Rebecca Blouwuff and follow-up work to fund two sessions of professional development on proficiency strategies for the World Language Department with Rebecca Blouwuff and teacher time for staff to implement strategies into their curriculum World Language $1,300         This press release was produced by Belmont Public Schools.
