The Mount Baker Community Club is hiring for Event Setup /Takedown Staff and a Maintenance Manager! The Mount Baker Community Club is a Non-Profit Historic Community Events and Programs Venue. Setup/Takedown Job Description Job Duties • Setup/take down tables, chairs and related equipment • Setting up Audio & Visual Equipment (no experience required, training provided) • Perform General Event related duties on the exterior and interior of the facility to include, but not limited to, wiping down tables and chairs, cleaning restrooms, trash removal and sweeping • Fixing minor problems as they occur • Fill in for Event Supervisors on an occasional basis Requirements • Arrive on time, self managed • Presentable to clientele (casual dress code) • Work independently or in small groups • Some weekday work. Weekends required most events are Thursday – Sunday. Physical Requirements: • Must be able to pick up and carry 50lbs (minimum) • Constant walking/standing. • Pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs (tables weigh approximately 30lbs) • Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine • Constant reaching and turning around Mostly Flexible Schedule, usually with a window of time to complete the setup/takedown. Example of weekday setup/takedowns you may have a 6-12 hour period in which to do 1-2 hours of work. Example: From 9pm Wednesday to 7am on Thursday. Example of weekend setup/take down you would have an 8 hour window between 11pm – 7am. Many weekend events start later so the window could potentially be more than 8 hours. October – March we have morning programs events on Saturdays (currently postponed) and some afternoons are required to set up for the next event. This is a part-time job 5-15 hours, great job for someone who lives in the neighborhood or surrounding area and would like to supplement their income. Guaranteed Pay for 1 hour minimum even if the set up only takes 30 minutes. Hourly Rate: $18.00. Must pass a background check.
